Today marks the 100th year anniversary of the start of WWI. Thought to be a war that would be over by Christmas, WWI dragged on until 1918, claiming the lives of close to 37 million people, including civilians. The ‘Great War’ changed the face of conflict forever. No longer was war a glorious, glamorous means in which a boy could become a man, and a country could become an empire. War turned into what it was— a horrific end to life and peace.
